Report on India’s participation in Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur 2015

In unregelmäßigen Abständen schaue ich auf die Statistiken dieses blogs und stelle zum Beispiel fest, dass mein Beitrag "Report on India’s participation in Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur 2011" in diesem Monat 7 klicks hatte!

Ich schau mir den blog dann auch meistens noch einmal an und erinnere mich.
Als solches (Tagebuch, in dem man von Zeit zu Zeit blättert und sich erinnert) hatte ich den blog auch Anfang 2011 eingerichtet.

Randonneurs india, damit fing alles an. Ist ja schon eine Weile her. Wenn man heute auf deren Seite blättert, liest man, dass die indischen Randonneure sehr aktiv sind und dass sie in diesem Jahr PBP 2015 53 Teilnehmer hatten!

INDIA’S participation in Paris Brest Paris (PBP)

The first time India participated in PBP was in 2011, the 17th edition. 15 Super-randonneurs, 5 each from Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, rode in Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur 2011. Two riders completed the route successfully within their respective times. Another rider completed the route outside of 90 hours. While this was an outcome that was not up to expectations, it appears to be close to the norm, for countries participating in PBP for the first time. The experience of participating in an event of that scale, 1230 km in the French countryside, alongside over 5000 Randonneurs from around the world, was matchless.

INDIA AT PBP 2015

The experience of this pioneering team and the mileage that riders across the country, are putting in now, should help India put up a much better performance in PBP 2015. Randonneurs have been riding long distances since 2013 to improve their chances at PBP. This year numerous randonneurs in India have completed the series of rides required to qualify for PBP. Read Article in Times of India Life

PBP 2015 starts on 16th Aug and finishes on the 20th of Aug. There are over 6000 participants for 65 countries from around the world! This year there are over 53 participants from India.
