Nun, dann bin ich ja bei Willy Warmer genau richtig, denn die Englische Küche wollte ich schon immer testen.

The Ride
Bike: Due to the time of year and the risk of inclement weather, mudguards are requested for this ride. If you choose to ride unguarded at arrive at a control café covered in grime, you may be refused service. Do not underestimate the route. You are strongly encouraged to carry good lighting as the later sections include unlit roads which you will have to navigate in the dark, so don’t forget your headtorch!
Route: The route is intended to be a winter audax which may suffer from poor weather and short days, so the emphasis is on a fast route, good roads and not too much climbing . At the same time you will get to see some undulating country roads, so be prepared!
The route has main controls at Pangbourne, Hungerford and Winnersh and oinfo controls at Henley, Lambourne, Kingsclere and Riseley.
The route starts with a fast run out to Pangbourne for Second Breakfast at the LouLaBelle café before pushing on west to Lambourne before cutting back to Hungerford for a lunch stop at the Tutti Pole café. Then its time to head for home via Kingsclere and a final Supermarket sweep at Sainsbur’s in Winnersh to ttock up for the last push for home.
Controls and Refreshments:
Pangbourne Control: The Control is “The LouLaBelle Cafe”, located next to Lloyds Bank. There will be a sticker on the counter for your Brevet whilst you get a warming drink & snack to fortify you for the day ahead.
Hungerford Control: The Control is “The Tutti Pole” café which is immediately after the bridge on the right hand side. A chance to sit down out of the cold and enjoy some well deserved beans on toast and say hello to your Audax Controller.
If the Tutti Pole is busy or you want to buy some tuck, there is a large Tescos Supermarket on the 1st left before the railway bridge over the high street, and a coffee shop on the right after the railway bridge.
Kingsclere (info) has a Co-op selling sweets and snacks in
Swan Streetopposite the church.
Winnersh Control:
The Control is the Sainsburys Supermarket at the junction with the A329. The in-store café is open until 7pm so most riders will have the chance of a hot snack, otherwise you’ll have to forage in the supermarket which is open until 10pm.
The Finish
· Please make your way to the Community Centre and register that you have completed the ride. Make sure you have completed your name and address, and have signed your Brevet before handing it in.
· There will be food and drinks are available at the finish of the tea, cake variety, plus some simple hot snacks of the beans on toast variety at a nominal cost.
· There are washrooms and toilets, but no showers.
· Please respect the other users of the hall. Leave your bikes outside, and avoid crowding the lobby around the kitchen area.
